Two Day Effective Shutdown and Turnaround Training Course

A Planned Shutdown, Outage or Turnaround will typically consume the equivalent of an entire annual maintenance budget, and be responsible for almost all the lack of throughput for the year.  They are also the principal opportunity for implementing projects for improved safety, reliability or capacity.  A focus on excellent shutdown planning and execution is therefore crucial for the Safety, Throughput and Cost Effectiveness of all world class asset intensive organisations.

The successful achievement of the objectives of any type of Shutdown is heavily dependent on the quality of the preparation.  This is reflected in the structure of the shutdown process, the first three phases of which are aimed at a controlled development of the plan prior to the execution of the shutdown.  Any shutdown also relies on learning from lessons of the past, and so the model includes a set of post-shutdown activities which must be completed with as much diligence as with planning.

Each phase of the process contains procedures and checklists aimed at achieving milestone objectives.  The five phases are: 1 Shutdown Proposal; 2 Scope Development and Refinement; 3 Planning and Preparation; 4 Shutdown Execution; 5 Post Shutdown
